Siliguri, 16th June: The Siliguri Champasari Bazar which comes under Ward No. 46 will be shut down for 10 days as a containment measure starting tomorrow. Meanwhile, barricades have been put up around the Champasari More as well as near Sri Guru Vidya Mandir School on behalf of the administration.
Siliguri SDO Sumanta Sahay and Commissioner of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Sonam Wangdi Bhutia inspected the area. In this context, the Commissioner stated that the area will remain barricaded for the next 7-10 days. Besides, traffic is likely to be controlled and all shops and markets will remain shut down.
On the other hand, the locals approached the SDO stating that several trucks have been entering the area. The SDO assured that surveillance will be kept to ensure that no truck from outside is allowed to enter the area.
