Siliguri, 12th June: Sensation prevailed after a body was recovered from Mahananda river near Gulma, today. The deceased has been identified as Rythem Mukhia (32) a resident of Darjeeling, who was currently based in Devidanga.
Reportedly, the locals spotted the body earlier this morning and informed the police. Upon receiving the news, the Sukna police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. After hours of investigation, the body was identified and the family of the deceased was contacted.
As of now, the police have not revealed any information regarding the mysterious death of the youth and stated that the matter will be revealed only after the post-mortem report arrives. At present, the whole matter is being investigated.
