Siliguri: Bengal Chemists and Druggists Association demands removal of GST on medicines

Siliguri, 15th December: The Bengal Chemists and Druggists Association made several demands, including reducing the price of life-saving medicines and removing GST on medicines.

Members of the organization raised voices with placards in their hands from Hashmi Chowk to Sevoke More. Vijay Gupta, secretary of Bengal Chemists and Druggists Association, President Amitava Saha, president, Kalishankar Chakraborty, and others were present.

In this regard, Vijay Gupta said, “12 to 18 percent GST on medicines is absolutely immoral. The central government should reduce GST in the interest of the people.” He also questioned the quality of medicines being sold online and through discounts.
