Siliguri attempted ATM robbery case: Two arrested on suspicion

Siliguri, 10th November: In a significant breakthrough, the cops of Matigara police station of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police achieved success in the attempted ATM robbery case in the Shiv Mandir area of Siliguri. During the investigation, the police arrested two individuals, identified as Nazrul Islam (24) and Maqbul Ali (30), both stated to be residents of Assam. Following the arrest, the police recovered several weapons and cash worth lakhs.


As per reports, on Thursday night, the police of Matigara police station spotted two individuals wandering in a suspicious condition, during patrolling. Subsequently, as the patrol team interrogated both, they sensed suspicion, and their bags were searched. During the search, weapons and cash worth about Rs 8 lakh were recovered, prompting their arrest.

On Friday, Matigara Police presented both the accused in the court and took them on a 7-day remand. The police suspect the duo to be members of the gang who were involved in the attempted loot of an ATM in the Shiv Mandir area.
