Siliguri, 10th September: The athletes of Siliguri excelled in the Indo-Nepal Karate Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal on September 2nd and 3rd. In the event, 5 athletes from Siliguri won 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze making the total medals tally to 8. Following this, the medallists were honored by Jatiya Shakti Sangha and Pathagar Club of Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
Speaking at the occasion, Abhijit Karmakar the Secretary of Jatiya Shakti Sangha and Pathaghar Club expressed happiness and highlighted the achievement of the 5 participants of Jatiya Shakti Sangha and Pathaghar Club who won 8 medals in the two-day event organized in Nepal. He added that the medallists were honored by the club as it is a moment of pride for Siliguri as well as the entire country.
