Siliguri, 25th December: Pradhan Nagar police station and DD’s team together have busted the gang that would run prostitution on the pretext of providing a job in the city. Four women have been freed from the clutches of the gang. While four people including a woman from the said gang have been arrested.
DCP Abhishek Gupta informed regarding this by holding a press conference at Pradhan Nagar police station on Saturday. Gupta told that a family living in Murshidabad had complained to Pradhan Nagar police station that their daughter was being thrown into the quagmire of prostitution in the name of a job. Based on the complaint, Pradhan Nagar police station and the DD team conducted an investigation and arrested four people including a woman. From whose clutches four girls have also been rescued.
Giving information about the gang, DCP Abhishek Gupta told that a Toto driver, a resident of Sitalkuchi of Cooch Behar was running the said gang. His team has gathered in search of the Toto driver. At present, the names of the four accused have been kept confidential to be able to reach the main leader of the said gang. All four accused will be produced in Siliguri court and taken on remand.
