Jalpaiguri, 06th August: Several houses were damaged in an elephant attack in the Rangdhamali Natun Basti area of Jalpaiguri, on Friday morning.
According to local sources, a group of 4 elephants entered the locality from Baikunthapur forest and destroyed several houses and trees in the area. The crops were also damaged.
Upon receiving the news, the forest workers reached the spot and started chasing the elephants back to the forest. Meanwhile, a large number of people gathered in the area to catch a glimpse of the elephants.
