Siliguri, 15th October: In a significant collaboration, the women-run Satarupa Durga Puja Committee and the Lions Club of Siliguri Smart City collaborated to organize a blood donation and free health check-up camp in Ward No. 17 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). Additionally, a ‘Food for All’ program was organized as a part of the event.
According to information, on Sunday, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb opened the camp. Reportedly, the Satarupa Durga Puja Committee conducts a number of programs every year before Durga Puja. This year, the committee launched a number of initiatives this year, including the blood donation drive.
During the event, about 250 participants were offered food in the ‘Food for All’ program. As per stated by the committee members, the collected blood will be transported to the Blood Bank of the Lions Club.
