Siliguri, 22nd August: On the initiative of the Department of Youth Welfare and Sports, Government of West Bengal and under the aegis of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Sanskriti Diwas was celebrated on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival. The celebration was organized on Sunday near the Gostho Pal statue on Bidhan Road.
On this day, tributes were paid by lighting lamps on the portraits of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam. Also, keeping in mind the prevailing pandemic, masks were handed over to the common people who were made aware of the safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. On this occasion, Administrator of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Goutam Deb, BoA members Ranjan Sarkar, Vivek Vaid and others were present.
