Safe Home to be launched at Agarwala Bhawan in Kawakhali from June 1, inauguration held today

Siliguri, 30th May: Amit Agarwala Bhawan in Kawakhali which has been converted into a safe home was inaugurated on Sunday by SMC administrator Goutam Deb.


The said Bhawan has been transformed into a safe home under the joint initiative of Lions Club of Siliguri District 322F, Amit Agarwala Foundation, Covid Care Network, and Suryanagar Social Welfare Organization.

Reportedly, the 30-bedded safe home will be launched from June 01. Oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, medicines, meals, ambulance services will be provided free of cost.


Darjeeling District Magistrate S Ponnambalam, SMC Administrator Goutam Deb, Dean of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital Sandeep Sengupta, Dr. Anirban Roy, Dr. Kalyan Khan, and many others were present at the inauguration of the safe home today.

Dr. Sandeep Sengupta said that COVID patients often have difficulty in breathing. Hence, oxygen arrangements have been made.

Goutam Deb said that at present there are arrangements for 30 beds and the number of beds will be increased if necessary.
