Siliguri, 05th February: The RPF team from Junction Town successfully uncovered a major drug smuggling operation and seized a large quantity of cannabis worth lakhs of rupees.
According to sources, the drugs were being smuggled through the Kanchankanya train from Alipurduar. Upon receiving a tip-off, the RPF team began a thorough investigation. On Tuesday night, as the Kanchankanya train arrived at the Siliguri Junction, the team launched a search operation. During the search, they found 15 kilograms of cannabis inside a bag. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be in the lakhs.
However, no arrests have been made as of now while the RPF team investigating to identify those involved in the drug trafficking network.
