Robbery case update: Two out of three arrested for robbing house on Iskcon Mandir Road 

Siliguri, 21st May: Siliguri Metropolitan Police arrested two under the charge of robbing the house at Anchal Bazar, Iskon Mandir Road under Bhaktinagar Police Station area on May 09. The accused have been identified as Haidarpara residents Amir Sikdar and Ajay Ghosh. Reportedly, their third partner is still at large.
Addressing a press conference at Bhaktinagar police station last night, West Zone DCP Joy Tudu informed that on the night of May 09, a robbery took place in a house during which a senior citizen Chandan Roy was attacked. Valuables amounting to about seven lakh rupees including gold and silver jewelry were burgled from the house. The Detective Department (DD), Special Operation Group (SOG), and Monitoring Cell of Siliguri Metropolitan Police were constantly monitoring the case. Two individuals were taken into custody and after interrogation, about Rs 2,61,000 cash and some pieces of jewelry were recovered from their possession. 
Police further maintained that the third accused of the robbery is still absconding. Allegedly, the gang was also involved in drug trafficking following which the Bhaktinagar police have registered cases for robbery as well as drug peddling against the arrested. The duo was presented in Jalpaiguri court and has been kept on police remand for further interrogation.
