Alipurduar, 27th August: Sensation prevailed after eleven consecutive shops were robbed in Alipurduar on Thursday night. The incident has triggered concern among the district business community.
It is learned that the burglary took place in the New Town area of Alipurduar. The miscreants took advantage of heavy rain and carried out the crime. The robbery only came to light after the traders reached the shop on Friday morning. The police reached the spot and started an investigation.
Meanwhile, the traders questioned the security system of the area and the role of the police as the robbery took place quite close to the police station.
