Rajganj, 21st June: A school teacher lost his life in a road accident that occurred at the Fatapukur bus stand area of Rajganj. The deceased has been identified as Ajit Kumar Mandal, a resident of Jalpaiguri. He was a teacher at Sannyasikata High School in Rajganj.
As per the report, the deceased was on his way to school on a scooter as a pillion rider with one of his colleagues on Monday morning. The deceased’s colleague said that a truck coming from behind rammed into their scooter at the Fatapukur more. Although he managed to save himself somehow, Ajit’s head was smashed under the wheels of the truck. Unfortunately, he died on the spot.
Meanwhile, locals staged a road blockade after the accident. Upon receiving the news, the Rajganj police and Rajganj Joint BDO Jayanta Dutta reached the spot to take stock of the situation. The blockade was lifted after the administration assured to take necessary steps in this regard.
