Rising theft cases raise fear among residents and vendors in Jotiakali, Jalpaiguri

Ragjanj, 11th July: Goods and cash worth around Rs 50,000 were looted from a grocery shop in Jotiakali near Radhabari area of Jalpaiguri district, on Sunday. 


It is to be noted, that a week prior i.e. on Friday night, three cases of theft were reported from the same area. Now with another burglary within a few days, the traders and residents are under a grip of fear. They demanded strict police patrolling in the area.

The grocery shop’s owner stated that when he came to open his shop this morning, he noticed the walls were broken and the iron door wide open. Upon inspecting, he found cash worth Rs 10,000 and products worth Rs 40,000 missing from the shop. NJP police reached the store and are probing the entire incident.
