Siliguri, 12th August: Numerous totos swarm the city’s streets, converging onto the main road, causing significant consternation among residents due to the ensuing traffic gridlock. In a recent episode of ‘Talk to Mayor’ on Saturday, a resident of Ward No. 38 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) expressed concerns regarding the recklessly operating e-rickshaws (Totos).
The complainant lamented that an escalating number of individuals are negligently operating totos within the city. These totos are frequently stationed for passenger pickups and drop-offs, exacerbating the traffic situation. In response to this concern, the Mayor assured to launch a concerted initiative against the rampant Toto increase and discuss the matter with all administrative officials, including the police commissioner in efforts to resolve the issue.
