Siliguri, 09th December: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation has started work on renovating the Kangchenjunga Stadium. Under this, Delhi’s renowned architect PR Mehta visited Kanchenjunga Stadium on Friday.
The Architect PR Mehta and Mayor Goutam Deb also inspected the Auditorium, Kanchenjunga Stadium, Indoor Stadium, and Swimming Pool under Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Mayor-Council Dilip Barman, and others were present during this.
Reportedly, PR Mehta has been called to build a stadium with modern facilities for players and sports lovers. Today after the inspection, Mayor Goutam Deb said that the work of renovating the stadium has begun. Regular inspection is being done and stated the reason for the Architect PR Mehta’s visit is the same. He further added that a demand has been made for financial assistance from the North Bengal Development Department and apart from the Kanchenjunga Stadium, the indoor stadium will also be renovated.
