Siliguri, 18th January: To make a reckless driver realize his mistake, Siliguri’s Ward Councilor offered him a rose.
According to sources, the speeding motorist ran into a bicycle rider on Rishi Arvind Road in the Hakimpada locality. After the incident, the locals held the biker. On receiving information about the incident, Ward No.12 Councillor Nantu Pal reached the spot and presented a rose to the rash rider in front of all the people of the area to make him realize his mistake.
Later, the motorist wrote a letter admitting his mistake and promising not to ride the motorbike at a high speed. The Councillor maintained that the ward has adopted such a new method to make the youth of the city aware of traffic rules and the consequences of overlooking them.
