Ranjan Sarkar directs nursing home authorities to offer Swasthya Sathi benefits immediately

Siliguri, 26th May: After allegations surfaced regarding the non-functioning of Swasthya Sathi cards in nursing homes, Ranjan Sarkar, member of the BoA at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, visited the Medica North Bengal Clinic situated in Siliguri’s Pradhan Nagar and gave strict warnings, on Wednesday.


Upon entering the nursing home, Sarkar noticed that there was no board attached concerning the Swasthya Sathi scheme. After interacting with the officials there, he learned that they have not started the scheme yet.

Following which, Ranjan Sarkar asked the nursing home authorities to immediately launch the Swasthya Sathi scheme. The nursing home authorities, on the other hand, said that they could not introduce the scheme yet due to some problems. However, they assured to launch the service soon.


In the last few days, there have been allegations of various irregularities against various nursing homes in Siliguri. Hence, SMC’s BoA is visiting the nursing homes to look into these issues.
