Siliguri, 11th August: Raksha Bandhan was organized in Siliguri’s Hashmi Chowk (Venus More) on behalf of Paschimbanga Rajya Pratibandhi Sammilani. The program witnessed the rakhi tying ceremony by the differently-abled to the police and common people. CPI (M) leaders Ashok Bhattacharya and Jeevesh Sarkar were present as special guests in the program.
Kajal Mitra, secretary of the Darjeeling District Committee of Paschimbanga Rajya Pratibandhi Sammilani, said that children with disabilities do various work throughout the year. Therefore, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the program was organized for them.
