Rajganj: Ragpickers die after jumping off a rail bridge while trying to save themselves from an approaching train

Rajganj, 26th May: In a tragic incident, a woman along with her two daughters lost their lives in an attempt to save themselves from the speeding train. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till the writing of the report. 
According to locals, bodies of the woman, along with her two children, were found below a rail bridge over the Sahu River in Sahudangi on Thursday. Locals said that the three survived as ragpickers. They were walking along a rail track this afternoon and on seeing a freight train thundering at high speed towards them, all three jumped off the rail bridge. The woman and the two children died on the spot due to the impact of the fall.
After the incident, Railway Police, NJP police and Ambari outpost personnel reached the spot and recovered the bodies. They were sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
