Rajganj police hold meeting with the Imams concerning Eid celebrations amid pandemic

Rajganj, 11th May: The Rajganj police held a meeting with the imams (spiritual leaders) concerning this year’s Eid celebrations amid the second wave of the pandemic.


Like last year, Eid-ul-Fitr, the most significant festival of the Muslim community, will be celebrated on low key and namaz will be performed following the government protocols. To address all these issues, the IC of Rajganj Police Station Pankaj Sarkar and Rajganj Joint BDO held a meeting with the Imams of Jamaat under Rajganj police station.

According to police sources, various rules and regulations have been announced as per the instructions of the district police. Not more than 50 people can gather in the jamaats. Masks and sanitizers should be stored in each jamaat. Social distancing norms must be adhered to.


Sheikh Omar Farooq, a panchayat member of Sukhani Gram Panchayat, said, “Religion will survive if lives can be saved.” He said that Eid celebrations will be held as per the instructions of the administration.
