Rajganj, 16th November: Rajganj police arrested two persons with 237 kgs of cannabis. Two men identified as Mohammad Hussain (45) and Chhode Shah (56) were arrested in the incident. Both are residents of Uttar Pradesh.
According to police sources, they received a tip-off on Tuesday regarding a large quantity of cannabis being transported to Siliguri by truck. The Rajganj Police set up a base at Sariam area on Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway and stopped the said truck. Upon searching the vehicle, 237 kgs of cannabis were recovered. Two persons were arrested in the incident. The vehicle has also been seized.
Upon receiving the news, DSP Headquarter Sameer Kumar Pal and BDO Pankaj Konar reached the Rajganj police station. Reportedly, the duo will be sent to Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
