Siliguri, 19th September: The Purbanchal Durga Puja Committee launched its preparation for Durga Puja with the traditional ritual of ‘Khutti Puja’ at the ground of the Balaka Club under Ward No. 23 of Siliguri.
As per reports, this year the puja committee will be prepping for its 34th year of the Durga Puja celebration with the unique theme of ‘Swopner Uran’ (Flight of Dreams).
In this regard, Surojit Dutta, joint secretary of the puja committee stated that the pandal will be decorated by the skilled artisans of Nabadwip. With the completion of the ‘Khutti puja’ marks the beginning of the mandap construction work. In addition to the puja pandal, the idol is anticipated to illustrate the conceptual theme.
