Protestors attack vehicles of BJP leaders in Diamond Harbour

South 24 Paraganas, 10th December: The vehicles of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders were attacked by protestors in South 24 Paraganas, on Thursday.

Reportedly, the stones were pelted at the vehicle of party national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya in Diamond Harbour while he was on his way to South 24 Paraganas. A cold-drink bottle was allegedly thrown on the car of Dilip Ghosh, president of BJP’s West Bengal Unit.

“I have been injured in this attack. The party president’s car was also attacked. We strongly condemn it. In the presence of police, goons attacked us. It felt as if we were not in our own country,” Vijayvargiya stated.

Meanwhile, Dilip Ghosh wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleging security lapses during party national president J P Nadda’s ongoing tour of the state.

In his letter, Ghosh alleged that the “police allowed a mob of around 200 people, carrying bamboo sticks, to raise slogans, demonstrate and show black flags to Nadda.”

The protestors also attempted to block the road from where BJP President JP Nadda’s convoy was passing. Bricks were also hurled at the vehicle of BJP leader Deepanjan Guha at Diamond Harbour.

Speaking on the incident, BJP West Bengal leader Anupam Hazra stated yhat the move was a ‘pre-planned attack’ and accused the police of helping the protestors. “There is no democracy in West Bengal,” Hazra stated.
