Siliguri, 02nd January: Trinamool activists staged a protest at the house of TMC Darjeeling district president Papia Ghosh demanding a change of candidate for the upcoming SMC election.
Reportedly, ward residents of Ward No. 40 are enraged that the former councillor Satyajit Adhikari has not been fielded by the party. Ward TMC activists staged a protest at the district president’s house in Bagdogra on Sunday.
“Trinamool candidate Rajesh Prasad Shah is an outsider. We want Satyajit Adhikari in this ward. If the candidate is not changed, the decision to boycott the vote may be taken,” the protesters said.
In this regard, Papia Ghosh said that Mamata Banerjee herself has chosen the candidate and that everyone should vote considering Banerjee as a candidate.
