Protest held in Siliguri against privatization of India Post Office

Siliguri, 22nd June: The All India Postal Employees Union and Federation of National Union Postal Employees Organization have joined the protests against privatization of postal department.


On Wednesday, the protest was carried out in front of the Head Post Office of Siliguri opposing the central government’s decision to privatize the public sectors including the post office, Indian Railways, and various government institutions. 

On behalf of the organization, Nanda Sen stated that if the postal department will be privatized, apart from the employees, the customers and depositors who have deposited their money in the post office will be deprived of their benefits. She warned of staging massive agitation in the coming days if their demands are not met.
