Professor Audio Scandal: Registrar files complaint against Amitava Kanjilal 

Siliguri, 12th September: Sensation prevailed after an audio clip of a professor asking for a bribe to give a student pass marks was leaked to the public. The student has filed a complaint at Siliguri College yesterday after the audio scandal surfaced.


In a conversation with Siliguri Times, University of North Bengal Registrar Dilip Kumar Sarkar informed that in regards to the incident, the student has lodged a complaint against Amitava Kanjilal the political science professor of Siliguri College.

Based on the complaint, a complaint has been filed against Amitava Kanjilal at the Matigara police station today. All audio clips have been handed over to the police as evidence. Reportedly, probe into NBU’s any examination work being looked after by Kanjilal will be launched.


On the other hand, protests were held in front of Siliguri College on behalf of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad since this morning. Also, a memorandum has been submitted by the Darjeeling District Trinamool President Ranjan Sarkar to the management of NBU, demanding a high-level inquiry into the entire incident.
