Priest’s body recovered from a temple in Ambari, investigation underway

Rajganj, 14th September: Sensation prevailed after the body of a priest was recovered from a temple in Ambari, on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Prahlad Sarkar (75).


It has been learned that the body was recovered from Satsang Dham of Sri Sri Ma Ganga Mandir in the Gokulvita area of ​​Ambari under Rajganj’s Binnaguri Gram Panchayat. The deceased’s family members assume it to be a case of murder.

Prankrishna Sarkar, son of the deceased, said that his father has been a priest for the past 17 years. He stayed in the temple for the maximum time of the day. However, he did not return home on Sunday. His body was recovered from the temple on Monday evening. He further added that there were marks of injuries on various parts of his body. The matter has been reported to the police in writing.


The same allegation was made by the temple president Taral Roy. He demanded severe punishment for the culprits.
