Pradhan Nagar Police unravel rental vehicle selling racket, kingpin arrested with 2 vehicles

Siliguri, 16th May: Pradhan Nagar police of Siliguri Metropolitan Police unravelled the racket of selling rental vehicles and successfully nabbed its kingpin, identified as Avaidh Roy. Cops also recovered two stolen vehicles from the Panitanki Nepal border. 
According to police sources, a complaint was lodged by an individual named Rajiv Chandra at Pradhan Nagar police station on May 11. In the complaint, he alleged that Avaidh Roy hired two vehicles from him and disappeared after that. Despite looking for him everywhere, no trace of Roy was found. The police launched an information and arrested the accused on the night of May 12 from Pradhan Nagar police station area. On May 13, Roy was presented in the Siliguri court and after conducting rigorous interrogation on remand for 4 days.
After the questioning, it was revealed that Roy used to sell the stolen vehicles in Bihar through Nepal border. Police also learned that he was associated with a few travel agencies of Siliguri. Along with Pradhan Nagar police station, many cases of car theft are registered against Roy in Bhakti Nagar police station and in Sikkim.
