Siliguri, 27th August: The Pradhan Nagar police arrested two men with counterfeit cigarettes. The arrested accused have been identified as Sandeep Srivastav (31) of Siliguri Ganga Nagar and Bhola Mahato (41) of Santoshinagar.
It has been learned that the duo reached Siliguri with the consignment from Bihar, which they had planned to deliver in the Lake Town. However, the police raided the Siliguri Junction area and successfully nabbed them.
According to police sources, around 1,20,000 cigarettes worth over lakhs were recovered from their possession. The arrested individuals were produced at Siliguri court today. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
