Political leaders condemn the act of pranksters putting broken sunglasses on Netaji’s statue in Siliguri

Siliguri, 25th January: A storm of condemnation swept across the city after broken sunglasses were spotted on Netaji’s statue. Meanwhile, former mayor Ashok Bhattacharya and Trinamool leader Ranjan Sarkar arrived at Subhash Pally after learning about the matter.


It is to be noted that on Tuesday morning, the locals spotted broken sunglasses on Netaji’s statue in Subhash Pally and immediately took the glasses off. After receiving the news of the incident, the Siliguri police reached the spot. Work is being carried out to collect CCTV footage of the area.

Ashok Bhattacharya highly condemned the incident and said that earlier too, a mask was placed on the statue of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar.


On the other hand, Trinamool leader Ranjan Sarkar reached the spot and laid a wreath at the statue of Netaji. He condemned the incident and demanded the arrest of the culprits.
