Police personnel attacked in Patiala, seven arrested

A police officer’s hand was chopped off and two other police officers were injured when a group of people attacked them at a vegetable market in Punjab’s Patiala, on Sunday. The police said they were attacked when they were trying to ensure the lockdown was in place.


ASI Harjeet Singh, the officer whose hand was chopped off, was taken to the hospital where he’s undergoing treatment.
Seven fugitives, donning the robes of Nihangs, have been arrested from the Gurdwara in Balbera village. One of them was injured in the police firing and has been rushed to the hospital.
