Police detain temporary worker of Siliguri district hospital over COVID vaccination

Siliguri, 23rd September: Siliguri police detained a temporary worker of Siliguri district hospital after he allegedly collected Aadhar card photocopies from people waiting in vaccination queues and asked them to return home.

It has been learned that several people were waiting in queues for COVID vaccination on Wednesday night. At that time, a temporary employee of the hospital collected Aadhar card photocopies from them and asked them to return home. He assured that they would be vaccinated the next morning. This sparked suspicion among all, following which, they started protesting. Police reached the spot shortly after and detained the accused person.

There is a rule that on the day of vaccination, coupons will be given in the morning after photocopies of Aadhar cards are submitted in the presence of police officials. However, the said worker collected documents at night without informing the police. Many alleged that the common people are being misled in this way.
