Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma hands over grants to various puja committees in Siliguri

Siliguri, 06th October: Like last year, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced a grant of Rs 50,000 to government-approved puja committees.


Accordingly, Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma handed over the grant to several Durga Puja Committees of Siliguri on Wednesday. He handed over grants and puja permits to around 30 puja committees including Central Colony Durga Pujo Committee, Ambikanagar Library Sporting Club, Phulbari Battala Puja Committee.

In this regard, the Commissioner said that the grants are being given from today onwards. "In the next three-four days, grants and permits will be handed over to all the registered clubs in the city. All puja organizers must follow the COVID rules. No crowds will be allowed in the mandap. Big budget puja organizers have to arrange CCTV cameras. No cultural events will be allowed," he added.
