Naxalbari, 04th January: The Naxalbari police arrested an individual in connection with the abduction of a family. The accused kidnapper has been identified as Bishnupad Saha. The family has been safely rescued by the authorities.
According to reports, on Friday night, Pradeep Chowdhury, a fruit seller, and his entire family, including two women and an infant, were leaving Siliguri for Bihar. Meanwhile, their vehicle was allegedly halted and the family was kidnapped by a group of miscreants in Hatighisa. However, during this, Chowdhury’s son-in-law Durgesh Kumar managed to escape.
Following this, Durgesh Kumar filed a report at the Naxalbari police station. The Naxalbari police initiated an investigation based on the complaint and arrested the accused from the Devidanga area of Siliguri. Subsequently, Pradeep Chowdhury, along with his entire family, was rescued. On Sunday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. The police are probing further into the entire incident.
