Naxalbari, 27th September: A nationwide strike was called by Sanjukta Kisan Morcha on September 27 in support of various demands. Bandh supporters took to the streets today to make the strike successful in Naxalbari.
Apart from shutting down banks and shops in Naxalbari, picketing was carried out in Naxalbari Market, Station More, Panighata More, Babupara and bus stand areas. A large number of police officials were deployed to prevent any untoward incident. CITU leader Goutam Ghosh thanked the common people for supporting the bandh.
