Pharmacist in Siliguri arrested for providing false COVID-19 reports

Siliguri, 17th November: A pharmacist from Fulbari allegedly prepared false COVID reports to help people travel to Bangladesh. In exchange, he charged a large sum of money. The arrest was made based on a complaint lodged on behalf of a private pathology centre in Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Dipankar Sarkar.


Reportedly, Dipankar Sarkar, the owner of a medical store in Fulbari, used to forge COVID certificates in the name of various pathology centres to help people travel from India to Bangladesh. When the matter came to light, a pathology centre in Siliguri, Milanpally lodged a complaint against him at the NJP police station.

Based on that allegation, the accused was arrested from the Purba Dhantala area of Fulbari on Tuesday.
