Passport Scam Update: Accused Varun Singh Rathore arrested in Siliguri

Siliguri, 15th October: In a significant breakthrough, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) successfully apprehended the accused Varun Singh Rathore on Saturday in connection with the passport forgery case in Siliguri. Following a 28-hour interrogation, the CBI agents left Naxalbari.


According to reports, the CBI had retrieved a substantial number of documents from the residence of Varun Rathore, the primary suspect in the Naxalbari passport forgery. On Saturday morning, the CBI initiated an investigation into the matter and later that night, arrested the accused after interrogating him.

It is to be noted that the CBI conducted investigations in 50 locations in West Bengal and Sikkim and arrested the Senior Superintendent of Passport Seva Kendra in Gangtok for alleged involvement. Upon raiding Varun’s residence, the CBI recovered several forged documents from nearby trees and vacant property.
