Siliguri, 18th May: Sensation spread in the area after the half-naked body of an unidentified woman was discovered near the Thakurnagar railway line, adjacent to Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass, on Sunday morning.
According to reports, local residents spotted the woman’s body near the railway tracks and immediately alerted the NJP police. Upon receiving the information, police personnel rushed to the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
As of the time of reporting, the identity of the deceased woman remains unknown. Her clothes were reportedly found at some distance from the scene. Police have launched an investigation to determine whether the woman was a victim of murder or if she died in an accident.
