Rajganj, 17th August: The drinking water problem at Rajganj Rural Hospital has been addressed with the inauguration of a solar-powered water tank by MLA Dinesh Sarkar on Monday.
The solar-powered water tank has been constructed at a cost of around ₹3.5 lakh from the Rajganj Panchayat Samiti’s funds.
A large number of patients and their family members visit the hospital every day for treatment. Due to inadequate drinking water facilities, patients and their attendants had been facing difficulties for a long time. Taking note of the issue, the Rajganj Panchayat Samiti took the initiative to install the solar-powered water tank.
Following the completion of the construction work, the facility was inaugurated by MLA Dinesh Sarkar. The new facility is expected to make access to drinking water easier for patients and their family members visiting the hospital.
Dinesh Sarkar said the hospital receives a large number of patients and their family members every day and the drinking water shortage had been a longstanding issue. He said the solar-powered water tank was installed to address the problem and added that efforts would be made to install more such tanks in the future based on requirements.
BMOH Dr Rahul Roy, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti Opposition Leader Nitai Mondal and others were present at the inauguration.
