Pani Puri sellers in Siliguri find an alternative solution to earn a living

Siliguri, 26th May: Lockdown has been imposed in the state to deal with the second wave of the pandemic. Markets are open for a specified time. As a result, small traders and street vendors are facing extreme financial losses. Last year too, many people changed their profession during the lockdown to earn a living.

This year, around 70 Fuchka (Pani Puri) sellers of the city’s Mazdoor colony, Matangi Colony and Haider Colony have changed their profession to earn a living. They are now selling fruits at people’s doorstep. However, with very little earning, the sellers are hoping for the pandemic to end soon and start a normal life.
