Pakistani nationals arrested in Kharibari for illegally entering India using Nepal visas

Kharibari, 16th November: A woman and child were taken into custody from Kharibari on Wednesday for illegally crossing the Indian borders using Nepal visas. The accused woman has been identified as Shaista Hanif.


According to reports, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 41st battalion jawans apprehended them prior to their unauthorized entry into India. The duo was later taken to the Kharibari police station followed by an interrogation. The woman admitted to the police that she was from Assam and had travelled to Mumbai for work. During her stay in Mumbai, she married a Pakistani man and travelled to Pakistan. Following this, the woman and her spouse travelled to Saudi Arabia for business where he obtained a visa for Nepal because he was not granted one for India. Later, on Wednesday, the woman and her son were arrested while entering India.

On Thursday, the woman was produced before the Siliguri court while her son was sent to the Darjeeling Juvenile Court for further legal proceedings. The police are investigating the entire matter.
