Paghalu Para Yuva Sangh Mahilavrand completes ‘Khutti Puja’ ritual in Rajganj, puja pandal to illustrate ‘Victoria Memorial’

Rajganj, 20th September: On Wednesday, the Paghalu Para Yuva Sangh Mahilavrand completed the customary ‘Khutti Puja’ to commence Durga Puja (Durgotsava) preparations, a month ahead of the festival. The event witnessed the presence of Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy.


As per reports, the puja is conducted by the women of Paghalu Para, a village in Rajganj block’s Binnaguri Gram Panchayat adjacent to Sahudangi. Reportedly, this year the pandal would be decked based on the conceptual theme of the historic “Victoria Memorial” situated in Kolkata.

According to the Puja Committee members, this year marks the beginning of the fifth year of their Durga Puja celebration. With decorative lighting and detailed illustrations, the estimated cost of construction of the pandal is Rs 8 lakhs. Additionally, a variety of cultural programs will be performed on all four significant days of the puja.
