Cooch Behar, 18th February: An individual died in a road accident in the Shiv Bari area of Mathabhanga. Meanwhile, an atmosphere of tension engulfed the area after the incident.
According to sources, a bus was traveling towards Cooch Behar from Siliguri, today. The bus, suddenly, hit the said individual, who was crossing the road in the area, killing him on the spot. The agitated people vandalized the bus after the incident. Upon receiving the news of the incident, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Meanwhile, the driver of the bus has been absconding since the incident. The police recovered the body, sent it for an autopsy and have started investigating the incident.
