Siliguri, 20th September: In a significant breakthrough, the officials of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station apprehended an individual with stolen gold and silver ornaments. The arrested accused has been identified as Sanjay Roy, alias Laden.
As per reports, two separate houses in the areas of Porajhar and Mamata Para adjacent to Siliguri were allegedly robbed a few days prior. The miscreant made off with several gold and silver ornaments. Subsequently, a written complaint was lodged at the NJP police station.
Following this, on Tuesday the accused Sanjay Roy was taken into custody from the Shantipara area. Additionally, the stolen ornaments were recovered from his house. On Wednesday, the accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri district court. The police are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
