Malda,18th July: Based on a tip-off, the Kaliachak police, late Friday night, launched operations at the Sultanganj More area and arrested 20-year-old Ismail Sheikh along with brown sugar. He is reportedly a resident of Narayanpur area under Kaliachak police station.
Two packets, containing 402 grams and 403 grams of brown sugar respectively were recovered from his possession. The value of the recovered brown sugar has been estimated to be around lakhs.
The arrested accused was produced before the Malda district court on Saturday and an appeal was made to take him into 14 day police custody.
