Kharibari, 04th July: Police from Kharibari Police Station arrested one person along with 44 buffaloes near the Bengal-Bihar border in Chakkarmari. The accused has been identified as Habibul Rahman (38), a resident of Dalkhola.
According to reports, a suspicious container vehicle entering Chakkarmari from Bihar was intercepted by the police. Upon inspection, 44 buffaloes were found inside the vehicle. As the driver failed to produce valid documents for transporting the animals, he was taken into custody.
The accused was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Friday. Police have launched an investigation into the entire incident.
