Siliguri, 06th November: In a significant breakthrough, the cops of Pradhan Nagar police station arrested a miscreant in connection with the theft at a diagnostic center located in Gurung Basti, Siliguri. The accused, identified as Birendra Kumar Dorji, is a resident of Sikkim.
According to reports, on November 3, cash worth Rs 8 lakh was stolen from the cash box of a diagnostic center located in Gurung Basti. Subsequently, the management of the Diagnostic Center filed a written complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station.
Based on the complaint, an investigation was initiated by the police. During this, the police gained vital information regarding the theft through CCTV footage. Following this, the police arrested the accused from the Tindharia area of Kurseong. In addition, police also recovered Rs 2.30 lakhs from the accused. On Monday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri court and was taken on a five-day police remand.
