Siliguri, 13th January: Like Haldia Sea Port, a Dry Port has been launched at T-Park in Fulbari No. 1 Region under the initiative of a private organization. The opening of this port will, directly and indirectly, benefit the traders of neighbouring countries including North-East India.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Amit Kumar, director of the association, said that for the first time, the company would exchange goods directly through the railways. So far, the cost of delivering goods was much higher and more time used to be consumed, however, the newly set up dry port will provide several benefits. Besides, all work related to the customs department will be done from here.
Amit Kumar further said that their company has already started working from December 07. The work will be started in full swing in the next few days.
